At HCDSB, we value relationships and partnerships and recognize that individuals or groups affected by a decision of the Board should have the opportunity to present their position or concern to the Board of Trustees.
In accordance with Policy I-06Ìý²¹²Ô»åÌýProcedure VI-105, individuals or groups may request to delegate to the Board of Trustees on matters relating to educational issues and/or other matters within the Board’s jurisdiction. Delegating to the Board is an option available to HCDSB staff, students and families, or other HCDSB stakeholders who reside or operate within Halton Region.Â
All requests to delegate to the Board of Trustees will be subject to the approval of the Chair of the Board. Requests will not be unreasonably withheld.
- Delegations will only be accepted from HCDSB stakeholders. All presenters must be HCDSB staff, students and families, or other HCDSB stakeholders who reside or operate within Halton Region.  
- A person under 18 years of age, who wishes to make a delegation to the Board must have written consent of their parent/guardian with the understanding that the person’s image (photograph and/or video) will be posted on the HCDSB’s website, social media channels and/or by the media. 
- Employees or representatives of employee groups shall only delegate to the Board of Trustees on matters not currently before central or local bargaining, including complaint and/or resolution processes under the Collective Agreement or otherwise under legislation, policy or procedure. 
- Commercial enterprises are prohibited from appearing before the Board of Trustees as a delegation for purposes of promoting their products/services. 
- Requests must be received by 5:00 p.m., no later than seven (7) days prior to the Board Meeting at which you wish to present your delegation.
