HCDSB is pleased to announce that we will be hosting a聽Parent & Caregiver Symposium听鈥撀�Joining Hands & Hearts to Create Positive Learning Spaces for Students!
The virtual symposium will take place on聽Tuesday, May 30, 2023, from 6:30 p.m. 鈥� 8:00 p.m.听and will be held聽online via Microsoft Teams.听
About the Session
The virtual session will be led by Dr. Ann E. Lopez, a Professor at Ontario Institute for Studies in Education of the University of Toronto. She will engage families on how educators and communities can work together to ensure that our schools are spaces where all students can thrive.
Dr. Lopez will explore ways that families and educators can collaborate to support students with challenging behaviours. This includes engaging in critical cultural-border crossing, as well as creating teaching and learning spaces where all students feel they belong.听
The expertise and insights provided by Dr. Lopez will offer invaluable guidance on how we can build a more inclusive and welcoming school environment for all our students.
