As you know, the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE), representing education workers across Ontario and a number of staff at HCDSB, have given notice that they will be moving to strike (full withdrawal of services) effective Monday, November 21, 2022 if a provincial settlement is not reached before then.
Yesterday afternoon, the provincial government and CUPE stated that their negotiations taking place over the weekend will have a deadline of 5:00 PM on Sunday, November 20th, 2022.
Please check your emails over the weekend as parents and guardians will receive an email shortly after 5:00 PM on Sunday, November 20th, once we have received an update about the status of the negotiations.
