Dear Parents and Guardians,
As you may have heard in the media earlier today, there have been some developments in the provincial labour dispute with the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE):
- This morning, the Premier of Ontario held a press conference, committing to rescind the , via legislation, if CUPE agreed to end its job action and return to the bargaining table.
- At noon today, CUPE held a press conference, indicating that in light of the Premier’s commitment to rescind Bill 28, its continued job action would end.
- Accordingly, CUPE members will return to work on Tuesday, November 8, 2022.
- Collective bargaining will soon resume at the provincial table.
In light of the above, all HCDSB schools will re-open to students and we will resume in-person instruction effective Tuesday, November 8, 2022.
