Further to the email sent to families on November 3, in light of the CUPE job actionall schools will be CLOSED to students today – Friday, November 4, 2022.

We will move to asynchronous instruction and learning materials/lessons will be posted in all classroom learning platforms by your school鈥檚 bell start time. No synchronous (real-time) instruction will take place today, however educators will be available to respond to student questions communicated via the learning platform or email.

NOTE: students enrolled at St. Clare of Assisi Virtual Catholic Elementary School or the Virtual program offered through St. Kateri Tekakwitha Catholic Secondary School will continue to learn virtually.

  • All Before & After School programs are CANCELLED.
  • Childcare centres will remain OPEN as they run independently from our schools.

The decision to close our schools is in keeping with many other school boards across the province who have a large portion of their employee groups represented by CUPE. We understand that this poses challenges for families, as our CUPE staff provide a number of critical and essential services in our schools, we cannot maintain a safe learning environment for our students without their support.

We continue to monitor the situation closely. Should the job action continue beyond today, further information will be shared.

Updates will be shared through the following ways:

  • Emails to families and staff
  •
  • Twitter

Thank you for your ongoing patience and understanding during this period of job action.
