At a Special Board Meeting held on July 28, 2022, the HCDSB Board of Trustees announced the appointment of Jeff Crowell as Interim Director of Education.
Currently the Superintendent of Education for Curriculum Services, Jeff Crowell has more than 22 years of diverse school and system leadership experience, in both the elementary and secondary school panels. Throughout his career, he has served in a variety of roles, including Teacher, Department Head, Coordinator of the International Baccalaureate Programme, Summer School Principal, Vice-Principal, and Principal.
In 2018, Jeff Crowell joined the HCDSB Senior Leadership Team when he was appointed to the position of Superintendent of Education. Since that time, he has held a number of portfolio responsibilities, including Family of Schools Superintendent, Safe and Accepting Schools, Parent Engagement, and currently Curriculum Services.
“Superintendent Crowell’s combined strengths and experiences will provide steady leadership to our system until the Board of Trustees appoints the next Director of Education,” says Chair of the Board, Marvin Duarte.
In April, 2022, the Board of Trustees accepted with regret the resignation of the current Director, Pat Daly, effective July 31, 2022. Read more.
The posting for Director Daly’s replacement closed on July 25, 2022, and interviews will take place in August. An announcement about the appointment of the next Director of Education to serve the ÄÛÑ¿ÊÓƵ will be shared as soon as a decision has been made and approved by the Board of Trustees.
