At the Regular Board Meeting held on April 19, 2022, ѿƵ (HCDSB) Trustees accepted with regret the resignation of Pat Daly, Director of Education and Secretary of the Board, effective July 31, 2022.

Pat Daly has and will assume his new role on August 1, 2022.

“On behalf of the Board of Trustees, we extend our congratulations to Director Daly on his new appointment as Principal of St. Michael’s College School,” says Marvin Duarte, Chair of the Board.

“Throughout his tenure, Director Daly has done an exemplary job in leading our system through a number of challenges and a period of great uncertainty as we navigated through a global pandemic. He is valued and respected by staff, parents, and students alike and will be greatly missed by our community.”

While this is a huge loss for our HCDSB community, it is also a tremendous gain for the St. Michael’s College School community,” noted Vice-Chair of the Board, Brenda Agnew. “We are grateful to Director Daly for the steady leadership he has provided to our system, and we wish him all the very best as he moves on to this exciting new chapter.”

Pat Daly has been a Catholic educator for more than 33 years. He began his career in 1989 as a secondary school teacher with HCDSB, and for the next 25 years, he was promoted to a variety of roles of progressive responsibility, including Department Head, Secondary School Vice-Principal, and Secondary School Principal.

In 2015, Pat was awarded the position of Superintendent of Education for Brant Haldimand Norfolk Catholic District School Board, assuming a portfolio that included responsibilities for Secondary Schools, Human Resources, Student Achievement, and Continuing Education.

Pat returned to the ѿƵ in 2018 as the Board’s seventh Director of Education

“It has been a privilege to serve the Halton Catholic community and work alongside so many talented and dedicated staff in each of my roles with this Board,” commented Pat Daly.

“I want to thank the Board of Trustees for their support throughout my tenure, and extend a special note of gratitude to the members of the leadership team at HCDSB for their guidance, their absolute commitment, and their hard work. I look forward to see the system continue to grow and prosper in years to come. I take with me many wonderful memories and will continue to hold close in my thoughts and prayers the staff, students, and families in the HCDSB community.”

In the coming weeks, the Board of Trustees will begin its search for a new Director of Education.
