From April 4 鈥� 8, 2022, 嫩芽视频 (HCDSB) elementary students and staff will be participating in Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) Week!
STEAM Week Events
Throughout the week, staff will be participating in daily STEAM challenges, workshops and professional development sessions. Workshop topics include Coding, Diversity in STEAM, E-sports, Digital Music Production, Makerspace Tours, Ontario Science Centre.
Elementary students will also have the opportunity to participate in workshops alongside their classroom teacher during the school day.
HCDSB will host guest speaker panels including Engaging Girls in Esports by Esport Canada, Dr. Sara Mazrouei (Planetary Scientist), and Scholastic Esports in the Classroom by FC Gaming.
5 Great Reasons for a Career in the Trades ~ STEAM Speaker Session with Dr. Callegher
HCDSB will host a virtual session for parents and elementary students with Dr. Jon Callegher. In his presentation, Dr. Callegher, Executive Director of Job Talks shares his latest research on why working in the skilled trades is an ideal career option in our ever-evolving post COVID-19 world.
