Kailey Dewar, a Grade 11 student from , released her self-published book, in January, 2022!

At the beginning of the pandemic, Kailey took on the task to write her first book.

鈥淩eading has long been a passion of mine and I started writing short stories in Grade 2,鈥 said Kailey. 鈥淚 have always loved the idea of expressing yourself through writing and being able to have others experience what you create. And while there were many draw backs to the first lockdown, it gave me the free time to finish my manuscript.鈥

The book highlights the story of 13-year-old April, who, throughout the storyline, must grow, adapt, and form healthy relationships she never thought were possible.

鈥溾楾he better things get the harder you fall, but the harder you fall, the higher you can climb. This message is that no matter how hard things get, they can always get better,” said Kailey. “I also hope that this book can show readers new perspectives and show that you should never judge anyone before you know them.鈥

Congratulations, Kailey, on this outstanding accomplishment!
