On June 5th, 2025, the ÄÛÑ¿ÊÓƵ proudly honoured 83 staff members celebrating 25 years of dedicated service, and 63 staff members retiring at the end of the 2024–2025 school year, during our annual Celebration of Staff ceremony.
The evening began with a beautiful Eucharistic Celebration presided over by the Very Reverend Monsignor Cornelius O’Mahony, with support from Vlad Mamaradlo, School Chaplain at Corpus Christi Catholic Secondary School.
Staff honourees were led into the ceremony by Jamie Connolly, who offered a moving performance on the bagpipes. Members of the Bishop Paul F. Reding Assembly 1981 served as Honour Guard, offering a dignified presence to the ceremony.
Musical accompaniment was provided by Andrea Taylor, chaplaincy leader at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Catholic Secondary School, and Gillian Federico, HCDSB System Chaplaincy Leader.
This year’s celebration was made especially memorable through the creative efforts of our students:
- 25-Year Anniversary Gifts: Under the guidance of teacher Rick Karniej, students in the SHSM program at Corpus Christi handcrafted elegant charcuterie boards for our 25-year honourees. Special thanks to Life Skills students Sophia D., Kaycee Q., Jimmy R., Usman M., Isabelle M., Natalie C., Abigail C., and Yaseen A. for their contributions.
- Retirement Gifts: Students from the SHSM program at Notre Dame Catholic Secondary School, led by teacher Allan Nason, designed and produced beautiful cheeseboards for our retirees.
- Floral Arrangements: Stunning floral arrangements were created by students in the Horticulture SHSM program at Notre Dame, under the leadership of teacher Jake Coleiro.
The ceremony reflected the heart of our Catholic learning community — celebrating excellence, nurturing faith, and highlighting the skillful creativity and care of our students and school communities.
Congratulations to all 2025 staff honourees! Thank you for your outstanding service and lasting impact on Catholic education in Halton.
