Grades 9 and 10 students and their families are invited to an in-person learning session on theÌýSecondary Educational PathwaysÌýavailable to students onÌýTuesday, November 19, 2024,Ìýhosted by theÌýCatholic Parent Involvement Committee (CPIC).

The learning session will take placeÌýin person from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m.Ìý²¹³ÙÌýÌý

Event Details

Parents and students are invited to this informative presentation to learn more about the educational  available, and how Grades 9 and 10 students can pursue their educational goals as they relate to their interests, skills and abilities.

Topics of the evening will include:

  • Co-op, Dual Credit, Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP), and Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) programs available to students in Grades 11 and 12;
  • Pathways planning using ‘backward design’;
  • Preparing for scholarships and supplementary applications.

The session will be presented by:

  • Judy Brydges, HCDSB Secondary Pathways Consultant; and
  • Alyson Little-Velianou, Secondary School Guidance Department Head.

Please note thatÌýthere are limited seats available, so spots will be offered on a first come, first served basis. Registration is now closed as we have reached full capacity for this session.

NOTE: CPIC will be hosting an upcoming virtual Pathways presentation for Grades 11 and 12 parents and students on the Post-Secondary Educational Pathways available: Apprenticeship, College, University, and work. Families will be receiving a direct email to participate in this virtual session in February, 2025.
