We are excited to announce that grades 8-11 parents and families are invited to a virtual eLearning Session on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, hosted by the Catholic Parent Involvement Committee (CPIC).
The information session will be hosted virtually on Microsoft Teams from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m.
About the Virtual eLearning Session on November 13th
The virtual eLearning session will offer more information on how and when students can register for eLearning courses, which grades are offered, as well as the online courses available in summer school.
The session on November 13th will include an engaging presentation from HCDSB staff about eLearning and the supports available to students, as well as a tour of the online learning environment.
The session will be presented by:

- Sonia Ellison, Vice-Principal at Thomas Merton Adult & Continuing Education
- Maureen Asselin, HCDSB Curriculum Consultant
About eLearning
Students will have the opportunity to take eLearning courses of their choosing, through a selection of courses offered through Catholic Virtual Ontario (CVO)!
Through CVO courses, students will be able to:
- Achieve credits online, as they work towards their graduation diploma in secondary school;
- Learn in flexible and engaging ways; through interactive features, simulations, and collaboration with other students across the province;
- Gain important digital literacy skills to support lifelong learning and future employment;
- Select from a wide range of subjects that may not be offered at their school or they cannot take, due to scheduling conflicts.
