Lauren Goodwin, Grade 12 student from , has been awarded this year’s esteemed Chris Hadfield Bursary! Lauren’s achievements and character embody the high standards set by this honour, which recognizes excellence in academics, sports, and community involvement.
Lauren excels in both the sciences and English, achieving an impressive above 90% average in her graduating year. Her talents extend beyond the classroom to the sports field, where she has garnered numerous accolades in volleyball and softball. As a standout athlete, she has not only demonstrated exceptional skill but also leadership, serving as captain of several sports teams. Her dedication and leadership on and off the field have earned her the admiration and respect of her teammates, coaches, and teachers.
In addition to her academic and athletic achievements, Lauren is deeply committed to fostering inclusivity within her school community. Her volunteer work with students in Bishop Reding’s Life Skills classes showcases her dedication to making a positive impact.
Lauren’s hard work and perseverance have paid off, and she will be continuing her academic journey this fall at the University of Guelph, where she plans to study Animal Biology. Her aspiration to explore the field of animal science reflects her passion for learning and her commitment to making a difference.
