On Tuesday, April 2, 2024, Minister of Education, Stephen Lecce, announced funding for the new Georgetown West Catholic Elementary School.
The funding will accommodate a new Catholic elementary school to address increased growth and student enrolment in Halton Hills.
The following dignitaries were in attendance:

- Mayor of Milton, Gordon Krantz;
- Natalie Pierre, Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Education and MPP for Burlington;
- Stephen Crawford, MPP for Oakville;
- Marvin Duarte, Chair of the Board and Milton Trustee;
- Janet O’Hearn-Czarnota, Halton Hills Trustee;
- John Klein, Director of Education;
- Ryan Merrick, Chief Operations and Sustainability Officer; and
- Emi Bakaic, Superintendent of Education.
Dignitaries from the Halton District School Board (HDSB) and Conseil scolaire catholique MonAvenir, HCDSB staff and members of the media were also in attendance.

- The Ontario Government is investing $26.1 million to build the Georgetown West Catholic Elementary School to serve families in the area.
- Georgetown West Catholic Elementary School will accommodate 527 student spaces and 88 licensed child care spaces.
