St. Andrew Catholic Elementary School’s Grade 7 student, Lucas Bi, made on Sunday, November 19th, at the Markham Aquatic Club, showcasing his exceptional talent in swimming.

Lucas has not only set new provincial records in the 100m, 200m, and 400m freestyle events but had already created records on October 29 by breaking the provincial record in the 50m backstroke.

Lucas shared his excitement, saying, “Each practice session brings me a step closer to realizing my dream of becoming an Olympic swimmer.”

Now, he holds all three provincial freestyle records, proving he’s a standout young swimmer. Lucas has ranked #1 in 11 out of 18 events on Swimming Canada’s mens 11yrs old (short course) this year, including the:

  • 50m, 100m, 200m and 400m freestyle
  • 50m, 100m and 200m backstroke
  • 100m and 200m breaststroke
  • 200m and 400m individual medley
